Email received from Heather Eig, one of Heather's closest friends, in honor of what would have been Heather's 40th birthday:

"Walt & Renee,   I just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you today and celebrating Heather's birthday at the Eig house by dressing Maddie in Lilly Pulitzer, giving Zachary a 100% veggie-free lunch, and having Brendan read a few books from Heather's library. I think that my actions are forever inspired by the way Heather touched my heart. She was such a dear friend to me and to Jason. We were so lucky to have had such great times together and will always cherish our memories of her. Jason's grandfather, Blaine Eig, passed away last week. As we sit shiva with our family, I have thought so much about Heather... Missing her, but mostly incredibly grateful to have had her in my life for as long as I did.
