Cabin John Volunteer Fire Department - Fire Station 30

Fire Station 30 on Falls Road in Potomac, MD, was built in the 1960's and interior upgrades and renovations are badly needed. But the focus of the Station's attention has been on protecting and serving the community and  it has been difficult for the firemen to raise the necessary funds for these critical renovations.

In July 2007 the Fund approved the details for the purchase of interior furnishings  for the living, dining and bunk areas. Funds have been  transferred to the Fire Station and purchases have commenced.

As of June 2009, all of the upgrades/improvements have been put in place at the Station. They include easy chairs in the sitting room/lounge, a sofa, a dining room table and chairs, an entertainment center/bookcase, office desks and chairs, carpeting and tile flooring, a large flat screen television for the sitting room/lounge area, a new leather sofa, a new ergonomic watch desk chair, and new box springs and mattresses for the sleeping area..

On August 11, 2007,  the Fire Department presented Heather's Fund with a plaque expressing their appreciation for the Fund's contribution . The plaque reads:

"The Officers and Members of the Cabin John fire Department wish to offer our heartfelt and humble gratitude to The Heather Joy Wilson Foundation for allowing us to realize a dream in providing a truly livable environment for the firefighter/rescuers that live and operate from the Falls Road -- Station 30. This is a huge leap forward towards the point where we hope to be in three years. Heather should be proud and rightly so!"
