All of us have at least one or
two people who have had a significant influence in our
lives. Please take a moment and picture those people if
you would…
For me and her Middlebury friends, like many of you,
that special person is Heather.
Knowing her changed many of us for the better, although
she never wanted to be remembered that way. She’d
probably rather have you smile when you recall how in
her world:
·
salsa
counted as a vegetable
·
Kaluha
tastes just as good with skim milk as cream
·
making
pigs in a blanket can be an art form
·
a
quadruple venti iced latte is a normal way to get
caffeine
·
fries
should be extra crispy
·
and it’s a
very rare occasion that isn’t perfectly suited for
wearing pearls
We
will remember Heather for her unfailing enthusiasm,
energy, and perkiness—no matter what obstacles she faced
her sense of fun prevailed. We all have favorite Heather
stories, and I’d wager there’s a joyous spirit prevalent
through most of them. Heather Joy Wilson was aptly
named.
A
very special thank to Heather’s parents, Walter and
Renee Wilson for their tireless advocacy and support as
well as their unwavering love. In addition to caring for
their daughter, they generously shared their intimate
family concerns with us so that nearby or far away we
could feel close to Heather.
Heather lit up every room and every life she walked
into—she will be greatly missed!
Those of us who met Heather at Middlebury will never
forget our perky angel. She taught all of us so much
about how to live our lives to the fullest.
